Here’s a low budget pilot I made back in February. The show was shot on three GoPro HD Hero2 cameras, attached to the windscreen. I like multi-tasking on shows. This time I wrote, produced, directed, edited, and even recorded the sound from a comfortable position, kneeling on the floor, in the back of the car. A big thanks goes to the very talented cast who did a lot of improv work in rehearsal, and on the day of the shoot. Arnaud Rigaud looked after the cameras/data management for me, and post-production was done at Screen Scene Post Production Facilities in Dublin (who did me a really great deal).
As well as our two nights in Vicar Street (March 1st & 2nd),we’re doing a special Valentine’s Night preview of the show in the Draiocht Theatre in Blachardstown and a special performance in cast member Eric Lalor’s backyard at the Axis in Ballymun on Saturday the 22nd of February. We sold out every single performance at The Fringe last year so get your tickets early to avoid heart-crushing disappointment! Follow the show on twitter @SinglehoodShow for more updates!
Our theatre show Singlehood, has developed into something of a musical, thanks to the wonderful comedy musical duo The Guilty Folk. Here’s a sample of the kind of thing you’ll hear if you come to the show (which opens on 17th of September in the Project Arts Centre in Temple Bar)….
And here are some pictures I took of our cast rehearsing the music last night in The Lab on Foley Street…
A big thank you to everyone who came to watch the preview of Singlehood at The Electric Picnic last weekend. The show was on at 1.30pm on Saturday in the Mindfield area and we were delighted to have a full house, and to receive a great response from the crowd. This is my first time being involved in a theatre show and it’s such a wonderful feeling to hear people laugh all the way through your show, when you’re used to seeing it performed in an empty room. The full show kicks off on September 17th in The Projects Arts Centre in Temple Bar and runs until the 22nd. Tickets available here!
