This is brilliant for the songs alone. I really hope lots of curious Australians trying to find out more about Brian McFadden’s new missus stumble across it and think it’s genuine.

“He says I can’t sing and I can’t dance, but I can make romance. Yeah, right there at the fork in the road! I said “go right,” Elizabeth said, “go left,” I went RIGHT! And then, and then, I understand what the situation was. I went over to that one bridge, yeah, and then when I crossed that bridge I found out that I was on the right side and I said, “Elizabeth, FOLLOW me,” YEAH! Because I’m going straight to the top! The stars, yeah, the stars, one shining star in the night. Shining…BRIGHTER than all the other ones! And I’m talkin’ light years away, yeah.” - MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE
Okay so anyone who occasionally looks at this blog will know that I’m somewhat obsessed with pro-wrestling. I’m always sad when I hear of another wrestler from back in the day dying before his time so I wanted to do a little tribute here to one of the all time greats who recently passed away - The Macho Man Randy Savage… Ooooh Yeah!
There’s only been a small number of wrestlers who had “it” both in and out of the ring and they inevitably rose to the very top of their game. Macho Man was not only incredibly intense, entertaining and insane on the mic (as the above video demonstrates) but he was also a fantastic wrestler who very carefully crafted every match at a time when most wrestlers just worked it out in the ring as they went along. Despite carefully planning all of his matches in advance, he didn’t simply use flashy moves and spots to get over, he understood how to build a match and gradually work an audience into a frenzy.
Here’s a good example of Savage dragging (the mostly awful) Ultimate Warrior through a hugely entertaining match…

I’m knee deep in the edit of Celebrity Salon at the moment. This is the second series of the TV3 reality show but my first time directing it. It’s a simple format, six celebrities from the UK and Ireland are trained in the art of beautification, from waxing to facials and even some hair cutting and styling. At the end of the fortnight spent living and learning together, two finalists are chosen to go head-to-head in a final beauty challenge… there can be only one!
It’s been a really fun show to work on, thanks largely to our six incredibly entertaining celebs - Calum Best (son of legendary footballer George Best), Rosanna Davison (Model/Miss World 2003), Abi Titmuss (Model/Actress), Georgia Salpa (Model), Alan Hughes (TV Presenter) and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace (Actress/Big Brother 7 Contestant).
I’ll be posting clips and promos as we get closer to the first air date - June 6th.
The Fade Street website has just gone up on rte.ie. One section on the website is dedicated to the show’s soundtrack. All the music (bar a couple of background tracks) on the show comes from Irish acts. Here’s the full track listing for episode one. Really love the Jape song (above) which plays over the end credits.
