The Hardy Bucks are the very deserving winners of the RTE Storyland competition. Storyland was originally set up to find a new online drama but instead discovered the best new Irish comedy show in years. The final episode will go up on September 29th. It now remains to be seen whether the show is snapped up for television by RTE or a UK broadcaster.
Congratulations to The Hardy Bucks for topping the latest round of RTE’s Storyland competiton. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it’s being described as an Irish “Trailer Park Boys”, which is no bad thing. It’s easily the funniest Irish comedy in years. If this doesn’t get comissioned as a full TV show after the competition has run it’s course I’d be amazed. The question is whether or not RTE have dibs on the show as part of the competition. If not, The Hardy Bucks could easily get snapped up by a UK station. What say ye?
